This tab goes to complete John Fair`s chords transcription
of Bob Dylan`s `I Want You`.
Notice this is just a one-guitar arrangement of the song!
If there`s two guitars around, one strums the chords and the
other plays the high notes of the arrangement.
Put a capo on the 5th fret of your guitar.
Play C for F, Em for Am, Am for Dm, G for C and F for Bb.
This is the chord pattern than can be heard all over the song:
F Am Dm C
|---5---5-6p5---5-|---5---5-6p5---5-|---5---5-6p5-----|-----------------|
|---6---------8---|---5---------8---|---6---------8-6-|-8--6p5----------|
|-----5-----------|-----5-----------|-----7-----------|-5------7p5------|
|-----7-----------|-----7-----------|-----7-----------|-----------------|
|-8---------------|-----------------|-5---------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-5---------------|-----------------|-8---------------|
Notice that the really important notes in each bar are the bass
and the last 4 ones sequence. As to the rest, just do what best suits
your techinque and taste.
Variation during the verse:
Bb C
|-------------------------------|------------------------------|
|-----6-----6-----6-------------|-----8-----8------8-----------|
|-------7-----7-----9---7-9--7/-|-/9----9-----9------10--9-10--|
|-8-------8-----8---------------|--10-----10----10-------------|
|-------------------------------|------------------------------|
|-------------------------------|------------------------------|
Dm C
|---5-----5-----6p5------|-------------------------------------|
|-----6-----6-------8-6--|-8--6p5------------------------------|
|-------7-----7----------|-5------7p5--------------------------|
|------------------------|-------------------------------------|
|-5----------------------|-------------------------------------|
|------------------------|-8-----------------------------------|
Bridge (Now all my fathers they`ve gone down...):
Do as you like... :-)
Later,
Stefano
